The Portly Pixie

A place of reflection,

relaxation and space to dream

How often do you get the chance to pause amid the hustle and bustle of the modern day world?  How long is it since you took the time to look at the natural beauty of God’s world that is on your doorstep?  When did you last make space for yourself to look, listen and be renewed?

Bramcote Mains was a military airfield during the Second World War.  Today this working sheep farm in northern Warwickshire is pleased to be working with Event Organisers The Portly Pixie to offer space to take “time out”.

This is no swish retreat centre which has to make a living as a conference centre.  This is simply just a place for reflection and relaxation.  Making use of the available facilities including indoor area’s, within the World War 2 bunker complex, a variety of activities can be undertaken.  The Portly Pixie has already run several “Reflection Days” at various times of the year and would be happy to assist with yours.

Prayer Rooms can be set up, labyrinths provided, self guided walks, written or creative activities such as Banner Making or Flower Arranging organised.  But, of course, you are free to do you own thing – whether for an afternoon or a weekend.  Special experiences with an adventure or survival theme can be arranged – particularly targeted at young people’s groups.

One of the indoor areas has been converted into a social area where there is water and electricity.  Catering can be arranged or you can bring your own food.  Bar-B-Ques are available if required.

None of this need cost a lot of money.  For charity groups we will be happy to accept a donation linked to your ability to pay.  We want you to come and make use of the space.  Be warned though – if you make space for God, He will move in!
